Very versatile dish. You can either eat this dish as a salad from a previous recipe that I’ve shared or you can fry them just like I’m about to show you. I have one vegetarian at home and she loves this dish. Just like any other of my recipes, give this one a try. You never know, you might love it as much as we do.
You will need:
- 4 Cups Boiled Cactus Pods
- 1 Cup Cilantro (Chopped)
- 1/2 Cup Onion (chopped)
- 1 Serrano Chiles (and or spicy chiles from your garden, I used both)
- salt to taste
- 2 TBSP Cooking Oil
Heat the oil on a large pan and add the onion, cilantro and the chiles. Fry for about 3 minutes or until the onion is translucent.
Add the nopales and cook for about 15 minutes on medium heat.
You will notice that the cactus changes color and become softer.
You are done! Enjoy
PS. If you have left over Cactus Pod Salad you can fry this aswell. Just heat up some oil, add the cactus salad and fry for about 15 minutes.
